Clinical research
Clinical trials and registries
Clinical research follows directly from the questions met in medical practice. It aims to characterise diseases better, to identify their prognostic determinants and their biomarkers, and to assess new treatment strategies.
The studies listed here are the clinical trials, prospective cohorts and registries coordinated or co-coordinated within the department of internal medicine and clinical immunology at Saint-Antoine Hospital, together with French and international teams.
The main programmes concern reproductive immunology, autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases, myeloid malignancies associated with inflammatory manifestations, and the study of the relations between clonal haematopoiesis and immune dysregulation.
An ongoing trial has no result, and a preprint is not a publication: both are labelled as such.

Multidisciplinary team meetings and expert opinions
The department coordinates several national multidisciplinary team meetings (RCP) and national expert schemes, through which physicians can obtain a collegial opinion on complex diagnostic or therapeutic situations.
The national “Infertility” meeting of the FAI²R rare-disease network is devoted to unexplained repeated pregnancy failure, recurrent miscarriage and placental disorders such as intervillositis, which call for multidisciplinary expertise. Arsène Mekinian states that he coordinates it; the network publishes the meeting and lists him among its experts, without publicly naming a coordinator.
The national MINHEMON meeting of the FAI²R network is devoted to the autoimmune and inflammatory manifestations associated with myeloid malignancies, in particular in myelodysplastic syndromes and clonal disorders.
These schemes are meant for physicians caring for a patient who wish to seek specialist expertise or a multidisciplinary discussion. They complement the specialist consultation and allow, depending on the situation, a diagnostic or therapeutic discussion, or referral to an expert centre or a research protocol.
